Germany’s largest innovation programme for SMEs
Support for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as cooperating research institutions and innovation networks, in market-oriented technology developments across all industries.
What is funded?
R&D individual projects
R&D cooperation projects
Cooperations between at least two companies or between companies and research institutions
Innovation networks
Networks consisting of at least six companies or international networks with at least four companies and additional SMEs from abroad.
Market launch
Services for market launch, such as innovation consulting services, trade fair appearances, and product design consulting.
How is it funded?
R&D individual projects
– 25-45% grant
– maximum of €550,000
R&D cooperation projects
– 30-55% grant (100% for research institutions)
– maximum of €450,000 per company
– maximum of €2.3 million total
Feasibility studies
– maximum of €100,000 per company
Market launch
– 50% grant
– maximum of €60,000
Grant
The funding is provided through a grant. No loans, advances, or tax relief.
Allocation
It is a national funding program.
Application submission
The application must be submitted before the project starts.
Application deadlines
Submissions are possible at any time.
Research and development projects can be funded if they sustainably increase the competitiveness of companies at a high level of innovation, thereby opening up new market opportunities and creating or preserving jobs. They must also target new products, processes, or technical services that significantly surpass the company’s existing products and align with the international state of the art.
