EIC Pathfinder
With the EIC Pathfinder, high risks due to research work can be avoided. This funding is divided into the Open and the Challenges program.
EIC PATHFINDER OPEN supports early-stage development of future technologies (e.g., various activities at low technology maturity levels 1-4) based on high-risk/reward research that enables technology breakthroughs (including “deep tech”). This research must form the basis of the technology you are pursuing. Consortia of at least three different independent legal entities located in at least three different eligible countries. How specific, novel, and ambitious is the proposed scientific and technological breakthrough in terms of the state of the art? What progress does it bring on the way to realizing the targeted technology?
Objectives:
How specific and plausible are the proposed objectives? To what extent are the high-risk, high-benefit research approach and methodology appropriate to achieve them?
Interdisciplinarity:
How relevant is the interdisciplinary approach from traditionally distant disciplines to achieving the proposed breakthrough?
EIC Pathfinder Open Budget: 142M€
Grant of up to €3 million. The funding rate of this grant is 100% of the eligible costs.
